MONTICELLO, Ky. (AP) — A person was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting that wounded a sheriff’s deputy, Kentucky State Police revealed Tuesday after the deputy was released from a hospital.
The shooting happened Monday afternoon in the Alpha community of Wayne County. The statement said the person killed was male, but offered no other details.
The sheriff’s office directed questions to state police, who declined to comment, saying they need to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
